This past week
.So what has been different this last week.
I looked at all the diets I have done. The Cabbage Diet, Slimming World, Weight Watchers, Sweet Diet, Atkins, Slimfast, and the rest.
All the diets except perhaps Slimming World and Weight Watchers are really a waste of Time. Fasting and deep cleansing is good, but it is not a lifestyle and it will pile on again if you go back to eating normally.
Weightwatchers has by far been the best as its sensible and for someone like me that does not want to count etc their filling and healthy plan suits me.
So....you might think wow she has lost all her weight but, I have not. Like all the rest of you I am human, and, I have human failings. The above of course are purely my opinion but I think over 40 years experience gives me the right to comment.
This week I am having a breakfast, something I do not normally have but this is the new regime. I have been having porridge, Scotts Porridge Original cooked in salted water then splashed with fully skimmed milk.
Lunch is problematical, I do not tend to bother, but I am trying my best. Dinner at night is normally the usual meat and veg. I am trying to be more creative. So I thought as part of my plan I would share some of my recipes and low calorie foods. This in itself is a battle as I have a very slim husband who loves fry ups, steak pies and everything that is bleached, processed and not wholewheat. I have also decided as of Monday I will record my daily food and any weight loss.
To date I have lost about 3 stone but, I have a long way to go. I will trip up, I will have bad days but I will plod on. I have to eat more healthily, and having limited mobility I have to look at more ways of moving. As 'Billy Connolly' stated in one of his shows, you need to move more and eat less. I wholeheartedly agree, but sadly there are obstacles.

Overweight, Over 60 and Anxious
So lets get started. I have thought about blogging for some time. Lots of people blog on fashion, make up, music etc. What about the older generation. Yes I love fashion, make up and music, but other things more important come to mind. e.g. How can I extend my life?
Being a mother and a grandmother your priorities change over the years. Nurture for me was the main thing. I adore my children and my grandchildren. So whats changed..As the children grew up I wanted to live till at least they had finished education met someone had good careers and their own homes. Mission accomplished, but then came the grandchildren and this is a very different kind of love but its even more intense and until your a grandmother it difficult to express.
One particular grandchild I see daily and she continually asks me when I'm going to die and what will she do without me. This is very hard for a "granny" to hear. I dismiss this as gently as I can but who knows when their number is up and this is when I decided I needed to try and extend my life as much as possible for this child who tells me everything
I reflected back on my life and how I have abused it. Ive never been a drinker but I smoked until my early forties. I eat what I want but then there are consequences, and being born to sickly poor parents doesn't help.
So now 60+ I need to address this. and if you are interested I will show you how I am achieving this. Watch this space......................
